Epic Metal Coins is live on Kickstarter and they are indeed epic! Infinity Plus One was nice enough to send me a sample of these beautifully detailed metal coins, which are specifically designed for board games, role playing games, and other tabletop fun.
The coins are meaty and have plenty of weight. These aren’t going bend or deform over time in any way; they look and feel great. The best part of upgrading your favorite game to use metal coins? For me, it is the satisfying “clink” that metal coins make and how they feel when held. Metal coins add a degree of realism that simply can’t be matched using cardboard punch-outs.
If you’ve ever played Lords of Waterdeep you will notice a striking similarity between these coins and the cardboard coins used in that game. The crescent moon shape of the “5” coin and the square “1” denomination have been expertly produced and your Lords of Waterdeep game will never look better. As far as metal gaming coins go, the detail on these is second to none. The coins use a custom Elven and Dwarvish script, along with twin griffons, a ship, castle, moons, stars, and other fantasy iconography.
But what if you’ve never played Lords of Waterdeep or that game just isn’t too you liking? Many other games use 1s and 5s as their only monetary values and while these coins might not match the shape of the cardboard coins that come with those games, these Epic Metal Coins will give those games a bit of fantasy flare and look good doing it. Or, if you are in to role playing, especially Dungeons and Dragons, these coins are perfect for keeping track of how much wealth your player character has.
The Kickstarter campaign for these Epic Metal Coins ends on December 27th so don’t delay. Head over to the project page and pledge today.
