Charlotte, NC— It has been two generations since our parents and grandparents moved to their new home, here on Terra Luna. Folks don’t even speak of the tragedy that ended civilization on Earth anymore. Life on the moon, in 2142, definitely has its ups and downs, but there is one thing we look forward to every year, one event that reminds us of the broken social systems that forced us to leave Earth and start anew: The Moonshot Race. Race day is almost here and the excitement is building in the streets. Each of the four factions will be represented at the race and the winning faction earns the honor of being our leader for the upcoming year.
In a few weeks, Fisher Heaton Games invites Terran board game fans to prepare for Race Day by supporting the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for their first game title— Moonshot: Lunar Solace. Designed by brothers David and Micah Abelson, Moonshot places 2-4 players in a race around the solar system with the goal of returning their squadron to the moon first. This dice-driven, casual, light strategy board game sets players at odds with one another as they jockey for position, often leaving opposing squadrons heading back to the starting line to lick their wounds and begin again!
Players from all over the United States have played prototype versions of the game and many have expressed excitement about the upcoming launch of Moonshot: Lunar Solace. “Playtesting Moonshot again! Everyone who has played so far has had a blast,” said Raymond Fowkes, an independent playtest volunteer from Michigan. “Take that has never been so fun. Short enough that random dice don’t bother me, and you want to play again immediately to get revenge!”
The Kickstarter campaign to fund Moonshot: Lunar Solace will run from July 5th through August 10th with a funding target of just under $15,000. During the campaign, Fisher Heaton Games will be preparing for Race Day as well, sharing the game with playtesters at three board game conventions in July and August:
- Dice Tower Con, Orlando, FL
- MegaMooseCon, Richburg, SC
- GenCon, Indianapolis, IN.
